Conservative Councillors for Pimlico North Ward have been spreading totally untrue rumours about Pimlico’s Big Black Bins
This is very worrying, as the Councillors know perfectly well that there are no plans to move the Big Black Bins in Pimlico.
We asked the Council’s Head of Waste Collection Services to comment on the misinformation sent out recently by the Pimlico North Councillors. He says:“There are no plans at all to consider removing any bins in Pimlico or elsewhere. The current policy is that bin removal requests will only be considered where there is evidence of strong community support for such a change – typically being the support of local ward councillors and/or a residents’ petition. You would also be consulted as Cabinet Member before any such proposals were acted on.
The quote about “the council refusing to empty certain bins when they get too full.” is also very strange and inaccurate. The general waste bins are emptied three times every day and the recycling bins are emptied at least once per day Mon-Sun. Further additional collections can also be added as and when needed.”
Please feel free to pass this information to your friends and neighbours who may, understandably, be concerned and worried.
We are sorry that you have been misled in this way.
