In 2022 we became the first ever Labour administration to run Westminster Council after 58 years of Conservative rule and we’ve been working hard to improve people’s lives ever since.

Your Labour Council is protecting and improving local services, while keeping council tax low. We are working hard to keep our streets clean, bring life back to our high streets and get more people into good jobs. If Labour wins on 7th May 2026 we will:

  • Keep our communities safe by expanding and upgrading our CCTV network to 350 cameras by 2028 and deploying more police and council enforcement officers on our streets.
  • Build 1,500 social and truly affordable homes across Westminster by 2035 and provide responsive and high-quality housing services.
  • Invest in community centres, hubs, libraries and leisure centres and the community activities that enrich people’s lives.
  • Create a greener, healthier and more resilient city for everyone and lead the fight locally against climate change.
  • Invest in every neighbourhood, keeping our streets clean, safe and easy to get around, and helping our local high streets thrive.
  • Keep council tax low. We’ve frozen core council tax this year and will ensure Westminster retains one of lowest Council Tax rates in the country.
